A LOT of roosters. I was surprised we sold the ones we did.. I didn't get down the line to see what else, we were between folks we knew from last year and spent the morning catching up.

dad and I stopped by to say "hello". Good job on selling the guineas and roosters David. Your roosters were very handsome fellows.

It was a good day for everyone I think that came to the swap. It was a nice March day and really enjoyed seeing friends I had not seen since the last Swap. I sold everything by 11:00 AM. All the Barred Rocks, the Buffs and Red Stars went and then sold 13 dozen eggs. I wished I would have had time to load some more hens up but couldn't get them all loaded due to an oppossum attack the night before. Glad I was out there loading chickens when they decided to come by. Well that is two less to terrorize a poor chicken. So 17 hens gone, one rooster, 13 dozen eggs and two oppossums. I am pretty pleased with that.

Thanks to everyone that came by enjoyed seeing Plain View Farms and several others but also missed some folks so maybe we will see them at the next one.We had a good turnout of folks from Louisa, Goochland and some from Powathan as sellers and buyers. Nice group of people both sellers and buyers.
Mark the owner of Saddle Creek Farm Supply is very supportive of the Swaps and wants to hold several more and talks about adding a farmers market to his list of Saturday events so it looks like more sales to come and possibly bigger crowds this Spring and summer. Keep on hatchin' and get the gardens ready.

Sorry I couldn't make it. I had something come up last minute. Looking forward to seeing everyone this Saturday at Powhatan.
